Ok, you've noticed (hopefully) that I have a new theme. BECAUSE I WANT IT TO BE FALL. It was incredibly nice outside today, and all I want is for it to be cool and crisp. Also, it matches Joan up there. Which might be too much orangey-red going on for the journal, but whatever.

Anyway, this update is brought to you by the fact that I am privatizing my journal from here on out. And I deleted a hell of a lot of work related crap that does not need to be out there on the internet. So, add me, if you want to read anything from here on out (because my life is so incredibly rich and exciting, that you want to!).

What?!

So, plus side to working in my job? I'm starting to understand Dilbert a whole hell of a lot more.

Nerd alert!

I went to the library this evening and it was awesome. I forgot how great it is to have a card. And they have a self checkout! The selection isn't fantastic, but it's decent. I could read from there for awhile. Plus, I have my huge "to-read" pile, as well.

Heeeee

Lawrence of Arabia: Ok, so I'm a dumbass and didn't know that this was Peter O'Toole in this part. Yes, I know, it's the one he's extremely famous for, and yes, he was nominated for an Oscar for it. (Which, by the way, Academy? You might want to get on that whole giving-Peter O'Toole-an-Oscar thing. He's not getting any younger.) I just didn't know he was this part until I started watching and saw the blue eyes. The man was kind of a fox in his younger days. I'm just saying.

I have to wonder if movies have to be 3 hours long in order to get on the AFI list. Seriously, take a look at that list again. At least half of those movies are three hours or close to three hours long. I don't see a single one under 2 hours long. Just an observation.

Anyway, LoA: Decent. Better than The Godfather (I'm seriously holding that movie up as my "Nothing can possibly be worse than this film" film.), but not truly fantastic. Lots of desert action. Lots of British accents. I liked how the movie opened with Lawrence's death, and then proceeded to dive into why he died the way he did. It was a good choice, I thought. Overall, not a film I would put in my collection, but worth a rent and worth wasting a Sunday afternoon on.

-Ok, first off, BOOK NUMBER 50: Hell yeah, I did it! And I'm really kind of reading-ed out. I over did it on the vampire books, and they sucked my soul out. (See what I did there, eh? eh?) So, Book #50 will be the last "review" I do for awhile. Until some crazy ass book just comes out and hits me with it's wonderful-ness.

The last book in my goal was Katie MacAlister's You Slay Me. Finally this author hit a good note. When she's not writing about vampires, she can do a really well put together story. When she does write about vampires, she writes a good story and tacks on a vampiric ending. A bad ending. Anywhoodle, this one was about a Guardian (I'm still not sure what this is, but she can summon demons) who goes to Paris and gets caught up in the Otherworld there. She meets a wyvern and becomes his mate. There are a lot of deaths, a demon shaped like a dog, and oddly, a lack of sex for a "chick lit" book. I kind of liked it.

-Check out my hot new Joan Halloway icon. I want to be her when I grow up.

-I have an awesome shipment of Bollywood on it's way to me. Including a fantastic special edition DVD of Om Shanti Om, which according to smokingguncafe includes a poster! A poster! Sweet!

-I have been dieting/working out. For many reasons, but mostly, I want to get my full insurance benefits next year (or two, as it's looking). And I want clothes to fit better. I'm doing pretty good (7 lbs in 6 weeks), but finding the motivation to work out is not happening.

Annnnd that's sort of all. Breaking Dawn still sucks. I still have yet to see Mamma Mia! or The Dark Knight. And I still can't believe I've been working at this job for a year now.

WTF, Meyer, W. T. F.

How I feel about the ending to the Twilight saga: Bella is the mayor of Mary Sue town.

And no, this book is not on my 50 books list.
